It should be the right of every child to grow up in a safe and loving environment, with nothing more beautiful than seeing children play.
Sadly, for many, this simply isn't possible with tens of thousands of children living in abject poverty and fear.
Right across Romania and Moldova, children are subjected to the most inhumane conditions, left alone, desperate and afraid.
This must change and we at Hope4, along with our friends and partners across the world, seek to transform the lives of thousands of children in some of the most deprived regions in Europe.
Formerly Reach My Street, Hope4 has evolved from its humble beginnings handing food out on the streets, to getting involved in supporting more than 50 children's homes across Moldova.
There are roughly 153 million orphans worldwide. Every day, an estimated 5,700 more children become orphans. Children are often relinquished due to war, natural disaster, poverty, disease, stigma, and medical needs.
Hope4 founders, Chris and Zoe Lomas have committed their lives to help transform the lives of children in two of the worst effected countries in the world, where conditions within institutional care are truly shocking.
News and Updates
For many years Reach My Street has been changing peoples lives in and around the UK and now turns its sights on Eastern Europe. Whilst operations will continue at its UK base, founders Chris and Zoe Lomas have given up everything and moved to Moldova to help support more than 50 children's homes. Capable of holding up to 10 young people, each home provides a loving, family setting within which children can thrive, plucking them out of institutional care and in most cases, conditions we wouldn't keep an animal in. This is not a project we can achieve alone and need the help and support of individuals and organisations around the world. Never has there been a more definable way to impact vulnerable children than now, with opportunities to actually visit these incredible homes and meet the children whose lives you're changing for the better.

Children are NOT for sale
It is a fact, that orphans are ten times more likely to become the victims of child trafficking, with many thousands disappearing every year. Many face a life of slavery, either in forced labour, or sex exploitation. Child trafficking is a crime – and represents the tragic end of childhood. Children account for 27% of all the human trafficking victims worldwide, and two out of every three child victims are girls, Tens of thousands of Moldovan women are estimated to have fallen victim to human trafficking. Most victims come from rural areas, where economic hardships and ignorance turn young girls into easy prey for traffickers.
With your help we can change this
Sadly this is a common scene throughout Romania and Moldova, children confined, sometimes strapped to their beds in conditions you wouldn't accept in adult prisons. These children have no voice and their cries for help go unheard. But there is hope and together we are helping to support more than 50 new homes, consisting up to 14 children who will be brought up in a loving setting with carefully chosen 'parents' who will spend their lives making these children's lives better. It has never been easier to make a difference and with your support, we can transform a child's life from one of hopelessness to one of happiness.
Sponsor a home, or sponsor a child
You don't have to be wealthy, or part of a huge organisation to help. Every penny we raise is directly spent on rescuing children from institutional care, where they face isolation, squalid conditions and even physical and mental abuse. This simply should not happen and even the smallest donations can have the biggest impact. By sponsoring a child, they become part of your family, as you watch their lives changed by your own personal love and generosity. You will even be able to visit them and see first hand how your gift is making a positive difference to their lives. Please click the link to learn more about our programmes.
Moldovan Orphans Are Easy Targets for Child Sex Traffickers
Of the 4 million population in Moldova, over 1.5 million of those of working age, now live abroad leaving behind their young children, most of which end up in orphanages. Many of these children 'age-out' with traffickers literally waiting at the gates to pick them up. The boys are sold into slavery, whilst many of the girls end up in sex-exploitation, never to be seen again.
With your help we can stop this and gives these children a future.
